The latest Final Cut Pro® X 10.3 adds support for the SMB protocol, allowing you to easily store files in the TVS-882ST3 and share files with Windows®, and other devices using Thunderbolt™, 10GbE or 1GbE connection. While up to 2 Thunderbolt™ devices can connect to the TVS-882ST3 to process real-time video editing simultaneously, the TVS-882ST3 provides an ideal storage solution with unmatched performance to increase productivity in multi-workstation environments.

USB 3.1 Gen2 provides speeds up to 10Gb/s – double that of USB 3.0 – to greatly boost data transfer performance. The TVS-882ST3 comes with a USB 3.1 10Gbps Type-C and a Type-A port, providing greater flexibility and ensuring future-proof compatibility with new and upcoming USB devices. Simply attach your computer to the TVS-882ST3 with a Thunderbolt™ 3 cable, and you will find the TVS-882ST3 in Finder/File Explorer with accessible shared folders available for you. It is plug-and-use, and completely simple.

Ethernet NAS mode

The TVS-882ST3 also features Ethernet networking for flexible file sharing across multiple devices simultaneously using SMB/CIFS, AFP and NFS for sharing across Windows®, Mac® and Linux®/UNIX® networks. Use Qfinder Pro to find the TVS-882ST3 attached to your computer, and you can find the Thunderbolt IP and Ethernet IP for file sharing based on your needs.

iSCSI SAN block-based mode

The TVS-882ST3 supports iSCSI SAN configuration, while the Thunderbolt™ interface can contribute a lot to iSCSI SAN storage performance. After creating an iSCSI target on the TVS-882ST3, you can access the iSCSI with your computer through Thunderbolt IP.

By connecting it to a HDTV or A/V receiver and using the free QNAP remote control it can be used as a brilliant media player for entertainment purposes or to directly preview your latest projects. Besides using the bundled remote control, you can also use your mobile devices as remote controls by installing the Qremote app. HD Station supports multi-tasking and user authentication so only authorized users can access the stored data. Surveillance Station is a professional network surveillance Video Management System (VMS) that offers a user-friendly management interface, over 3,000 compatible IP camera models, and expandable IP camera channel licenses. It supports real-time monitoring, video & audio recording and playback with a wide range of customizable settings. You can use iOS® or Android™ Vmobile app to manage the monitored channels anytime and anywhere to safeguard your office environment, or install the Vcam mobile app to turn your device into a network camera to instantly record to your TVS-882ST3. The TVS-882ST3 offers 4 free IP camera channels and you can expand up to 72 channels by purchasing additional licenses.

QNAP VJBOD (Virtual JBOD) is network-based JBOD, allowing you to expand the storage capacity of a QNAP NAS with unused storage space from other QNAP NAS. You can mount iSCSI LUNs from a QNAP NAS* to the TVS-882ST3 as local disks, and create virtual storage pools and volumes for operating NAS services. VJBOD supports 10GbE Ethernet connection interface and port trunking (link aggregation with multiple LAN ports) to establish a storage space with high speed and stability.

Flexible storage expansion

The TVS-882ST3 supports capacity expansion by connecting multiple QNAP expansion enclosures. You can gradually expand the TVS-882ST3’s storage on demand, and use the QTS Storage Manager to easily handle the NAS capacity expansion and storage expansion enclosure management.
